simple woman's daybook
FOR TODAY October 27, 2014
Outside my window... clouds are moving quickly to the east and blue sky is peeking through while the earth dries out after an overnight rain.
I am thinking... of how easy it is to get caught up in the web of life and lose sight of what really matters.
I am thankful... for the warm days of autumn when the sun warms my face and I am surrounded by the smell of leaves and earth.
In the kitchen... three of Mari's recipes are sitting on the counter waiting to be made. Apple Streusel Pie, Crockpot Spaghetti sauce and Chicken Tortilla Soup. After I go shopping for the ingredients today, I have meals planned for the rest of the week!
I am wearing... a heart of compassion, kindness, humility and patience from Colossians 3:12.
I am creating... a master reading list. There are so many books I want to read that I can no longer keep them all inside my head.
I am going... to bring my shaggy dog to the groomer today.
I am wondering... what 80's TV or movie character to be for Halloween?
I am reading... The Dwelling Place by Elizabeth Musser. Just finished Words Unspoken by Musser and would recommend it as a good read.
I am hoping... to get my giant jade plant repotted today before the cooler weather comes to stay.
I am looking forward to... cleaning the house. I know that sounds crazy, but I sometimes want to clean the house. I think I will do some deep cleaning items that don't get accomplished too often.
I am learning... what TV shows and movies were popular in the 80's. Since I grew up in the 80's this has been a fun trip down memory lane. I remember watching Magnum PI, Dukes of Hazzard and others.
Around the house... my handsome honey installed a new dishwasher yesterday. He did a great job with minimal frustration. You never know how those things are going to go.
I am pondering... my bad memory. How do I get a better one?
A favorite quote song lyric for today... There’ll be days I lose the battle/ Grace says that it doesn’t matter/ ‘Cause the cross already won the war (Greater by MercyMe from their album titled Welcome to the New.) Love this song!
One of my favorite things... Pilot G-2 gel pens in every color of the rainbow.
A few plans for the rest of the week: repot the jade plant, clothing and shoe shopping for the boys, find frames for three pictures, write for the newsletter and get Halloween costumes squared away.
A peek into my weekend...
