simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY July 9, 2013

Outside my window... sun, swimsuits and sparrows.

I am thinking... of the fun activities and action that we have been able to participate in all summer.  This week we are going to Lifest in Oshkosh, WI.

I am thankful... for small moments of rest and renewal throughout the busy-ness of summer.

In the kitchen... lots of green things.  Green leafy plants, green peas and green limeade.

I am wearing... shorts and t-shirt with bare feet.  It is hot and humid today!

I am creating... a letter to a very special child. 

I am going... to pickup my new glasses today and then go grocery shopping at several different places to take advantage of all the deals.

I am wondering... how long the construction will be on a street I frequent.  It is going to throw me for a loop until I can train my brain to choose a different access road home.

I am reading... three books simultaneously.  :)  the uncommon woman by Susie Larson is my summer book study with friends, The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.

I am hoping... the weather will stay nice for the rest of the week and weekend.

I am looking forward to... seeing my mom.  I haven't had good quality time with her in many months and sometimes a girl just has to enjoy her mom's company every now and then.

I am learning... to move freely in the mystery of who I am.

Around the house... our bags are unpacked from our weekend holiday and now I need to do laundry and prepare for Lifest.

I am pondering... excuses.  How often I make an excuse for my procrastination or unwillingness in any given situation.

One of my favorite things... sleeping in!  Was able to sleep in until 8am this morning!

A few plans for the rest of the week: enjoy the everyday errands this week.
