simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY January 23, 2012

Outside my window... two morning doves sitting on the birdbath enjoying a moderately cold, gray rainy morning.

I am thinking... that my computer is doing some really weird things this morning.  Couldn't be user error could it?  :)

I am thankful... for God's patience and steadfast love as he waited for this girl to come back to Him.

In the kitchen... the dishwasher is working, the coffee pot is finished brewing my morning cup of coffee, the counters are relatively tidy and I can still smell bacon from last nights dinner.

I am wearing... a charcoal gray Old Navy shirt and striped pj pants.

I am creating... a list and the beginning's of a few homemade items to give to five facebook friends.

I am going... to wish my brother-in-law a happy birthday today and then start planning for Ethan's birthday which is only seven days away.

I am wondering... when this puppy of ours is going to sleep longer than six hours at night?

I am reading... Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith.  It was a school read for my niece and sounded interesting.  Plus it's set in World War II which is the era the kids and I are studying for school.

I am hoping... the garage warms up a bit today so that I can clean out the used refrigerator we purchased.

I am looking forward to... filling the above used refrigerator with all sorts of discounted and bulk food items which leads to something I'm really looking forward to: Saving Money$$!

I am learning... to be content in all circumstances.

Around the house... all four children are still cozy in bed.  There are books on the coffee table that tell of our future projects; needle felting, basement finishing and dog training.

I am pondering... the movie Courageous and what changes I might make in how I interact with my kids.

A favorite quote for today... "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?" ~Dr. Seuss

One of my favorite things... the fresh and sleepy looks of my children when they first wake up.

A few plans for the rest of the week: vet check for Milo, plan and rehearse our skit for the USO party we're having for our end of unit celebration for school, Awana.

Through the lens...
We filled his dumptruck with bubbles and he sat for the longest time smiling and poking the bubbles.

  1. Oh, your little puppy! They are so cute but so much work. Soon, he will hold his bladder for longer periods and let you sleep in.
I love the picture of your sweet little one with a dump truck full of bubbles.
Warming up is already happening here. I shudder to think summer may be back on it's way!
Hope you have a delightful week, sweet momma!
    Peace and love,
