Simple Woman's Daybook
For today September 28, 2009
Outside my window.... a cool, gray, blustery morning.
I am thinking..... of my sister and the weekend I spent with all the girls.
I am thankful for..... the freedom to gather in the company of other sisters and brothers in Christ.
I am wearing..... stiped pajama bottoms, white Alaska t-shirt and a fleece pullover.
I am hearing..... the occasional outbursts of noise from the boys, the chattering of my daughter and the low timbre of my husbands voice as he discusses pumpkin carving with M.
I am creating..... hmm, not many creative thoughts or projects today.
I am going..... to get a head start cleaning the house for a showing on Wednesday.
I am continuing to read..... The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian and starting the Power of a Positive Woman by Karol Ladd. (pretty powerful stuff, :D)
I am hoping..... to learn a lot as I continue through my study on the book of Daniel.
On my mind..... a lovely note from Jess, regarding my sphere of influence in the 21st century.
From the learning rooms..... continuing through our study on Russia, including some Russian language and the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic.
Noticing that.....my children seem to have grown while I was away.
Pondering these words.... "I'm sure there is something she can do really well that others can't." (words from my mother when I told her there was a girl in my kindergarten class who couldn't skip)
From the kitchen..... Amish Cinnamon bread and muffins, pb&j for lunch and tacos for dinner.
Around the house..... suitcases that need emptying, sweatshirts that smell like campfire and need to be laundered and toys.
One of my favorite things.... listening to the rain while I'm cozy and warm inside.
A few plans for the rest of the week..... send out thank you notes to Grandma, trip to the library, AWANA on Tuesday, Show house on Wednesday, doctor appointment on Thursday and host mini-church group on Friday.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you.....

I love listening to the rain too! It's such a comforting sound...
ReplyDeleteI also love the picture you posted-it almost looks like a painting.
I can't imagine trying to homeschool and sell our house at the same time-yuck! :-)
Jan,
ReplyDeleteMy husband took the picture. I thought it looked like a painting too. He certainly loves to take pictures.
I thought trying to sell the house while homeschooling would be more difficult than it is too. I'm thankful that we seem to be managing better than I anticipated.
It seems that the weather was similar in a lot of places around the country this morning. A good day to stay indoors...for fear of getting blown away if you stepped outdoors!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Tammy ~@~
Your day sounded cozy-thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteYour husband's photo is stunning...I'd get that enlarged and put it up on the wall. My little kids would say, "For real, like in real life?" To which I would say, "Yes, in real life, for real!"
Last night when I was falling asleep, it dawned on me that I will have to leave my baby for 6 days to go get our next daughter (probably in the spring)...oh, my heart began to ache at leaving her (I will miss all of my kids, but the baby still really needs me and I hold her most of my day, sigh)...so I can relate how they seem to grow while we blink.
