Aloha Friday

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. Kailani at An Island Life is embracing this custom with her weekly Aloha Friday posts, so I thought that today I would too.

With school in full swing, my daughter decided she wanted to learn something new too. We are in the process of potty-training. My question for all you experienced in such an art,

Do you have any tricks or incentives that worked well for you?

To participate, go to An Island Life and ask your question. Aloha!

  1. Leave books in the bathroom for your kids to look at.

  2. We have a teddy bear that sings. He sings the "I'm a super duper pooper" song. That worked well for my older kids. :)

  3. Not really, my boys are now in High school and all were "trained" by the time they were three. They went when they were ready. We watched videos and read books on the topic, but I never "trained" them.

  4. We have an elmo with a potty, a baby doll with it's own potty...and that worked well to teach her. Then, it was giving her a resses pieces every time she did something in the potty (and making a HUGE deal of it) that finally helped her do it full time. She still has accidents but is 95% trained at 2 years old :)

  5. I've heard it's best to let kids do it when they are ready instead of trying to "force" them beforehand.
