simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY April 20, 2009
Outside my window... the spring grass is a lovely green, the trees are budding and snow is falling!
I am thinking... of all the wood that was split and stacked this weekend.
I am thankful for...quiet times to reflect, hot showers and spring flowers.
From the learning rooms... astronomy, James and the Giant Peach, math, spelling and lots of art
From the kitchen...tacos and a menu for the week that is not very original. I need more variety.
I am wearing... charcoal pants and a light green sweater (in honor of spring).
I am creating...a photo montage.
I am going... to the doctor today for the children's yearly exams.
I am reading...The Joyful Homeschooler by Mary Hood and Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim Fay & Charles Fay.
I am be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.
I am hearing...the birds outside and our furnace running.
Around the house...suitcases and clutter from our weekend away.
One of my favorite writing in my journal with an assortment of colored pens.
A few plans for the rest of the week: AWANA Ceremony, Mini-Church and relaxing. (I always want to schedule time to relax).
Here is picture thought I am at Grandma and Grandpa's with cousin Mak.

  1. I always HAVE TO have coloured pens for my journal. It's like I get creative block if you make me write with just one black or blue pen.

  2. May you feel the Lord's blessing upon your week. I've enjoyed reading your daybook this morning. We seem to have the same suitcase clutter at my home, too :)

    Happy Monday!

  3. Cute pic! I enjoyed reading your daybook.

  4. Hello Kim, I stopped by to say hello. I read your letting go post. Very nice, this is hard, I had to realize letting go was important for them to learn and grow and to love learning. Which is some of the reason I homeschool.
Nice blog I will visit again.

  5. Looks like a great place to play. We love astronomy here too.

Have a great week and enjoy your relaxing.

  6. I'm glad a stopped by today. I love the picture of your kiddos. I recently saw The Joyful Homeschoolers, I may have to try and get a copy from the library!
