For Today, June 20, 2016 Looking out my window... a beautiful summer day.  The breeze is rustling the leaves on the trees and the birds are flitting here and there in search of yummy insects. I am thinking... that Mason is certain my kisses help him heal faster. ♥ I am thankful... for faith that strengthens me when the world seems to be filled with hate, violence and an ever increasing moral decay. One of my favorite things... cooking new dishes for friends.  They are my taste testers and if the meal is not great, that is less I have to eat by myself. :) I am wearing... a navy blue scoop neck t-shirt, a purple skirt that falls just above the knee, a wrap bracelet and sandals because I'm leaving in a few minutes to run errands and pick up a child. I am creating... a vacation itinerary for one of our summer trips. I am reading... Unglued: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions  by Lysa Terkeurst.  It is for one ...

As my oldest attends Drivers Education classes this summer, I ponder what life will look like in the weeks, months and years to come.  Then I wonder, are Patrick and I adequately preparing him for life on his own?  A friend posted this video on Facebook today.  I am relieved to know there are resources out there to fill in the gaps.

Five Minute Friday: Haven

Image
haven  noun ha·ven \ˈhā-vən\ : harbor, port : a place of safety : refuge : a place offering favorable opportunities or conditions The inn is a haven for weary travelers.  On a certain day long ago there was a woman traveling to Bethlehem with her husband for a census.  She was pregnant and was soon about to deliver.  They went from inn to inn in the busy town and could find no haven in which to rest.  They finally found shelter in a stable and there she gave birth to our Savior, Jesus Christ.  He is our haven. Five Minute Friday is a wild and wonderful flash mob of words.  Five minutes on one prompt. No overthinking or editing.  Please visit Kate Motaung and link up with Five Minute Friday  to see more.

For Today June 1, 2016 Looking out my window a bit of blue sky is peaking through all the grey clouds. The sun makes an appearance every now and again and highlights the diamonds of rain that cling to everything. There is more rain in the forecast. I am thinking change is the only constant. Sometimes big, like a move or new employment. Other times it's small like furniture placement or a new piece of art hung on the wall. I am thankful for the ability to stay home with the kids. Some days I forget this, but most often I'm grateful that I get to be a part of all their firsts and much of what they learn. I am thankful to see character growth and thought processes mature. One of my favorite things new pens of different color, new journals to hold my thoughts and prayers and a new day where everything is a possibility and nothing is impossible. I am wearing a green "Water for Burkina" t-shirt and black yoga capri's. I am creating a...
