simple woman's daybook

For Today March 13, 2017

Looking out my window... fresh snow has blanketed the ground and the wind is sculpting drifts in the driveway.

I am thinking... spring seems to be a long way off.  However, the robin in the tree is telling a different story.

I am thankful... for my husband who tirelessly works to provide for our family.

One of my favorite things... a backyard busy with birds.

I am creating... May day baskets.

I am wearing... a purple-ish fleece pullover and black pants.

I am reading... Unashamed by Christine Caine

I am hoping... I recover from daylight savings time quickly.

I am learning... how to parent a 16 year old who has many questions.  Patience would be the fruit I am personally growing through this adventure.  However, love, peace, kindness, gentleness and self-control are also in the running.  Yay for refinement.  :D

In my kitchen... one piece left of Butterscotch Pecan dessert

In the school room... we are nearing the end of unit 3.  Next week is our unit celebration in which we will host the Olympic games.  Not accurate to the ancient Greek period we are studying, I've made a few medals to give to our star Olympians.  Here is a sneak peek.

In my garden... snow and ice and a cold rooster weathervane.

A quote to share... Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. ~ Mark Twain

A moment from my day...
That is a pizza slice.  Not sure why it's there and not in the refrigerator or someone's tummy.

I visit Peggy at The Simple Woman to read daybook posts from other bloggers and you can too!  Just follow this link.  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Our backyard is usually busy with birds ... also one of my favourite things. How lovely you heard a robin. I've been keeping my ears open to their first song of the season.

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places...
