simple woman's daybook

For Today, June 20, 2016

Looking out my window...
a beautiful summer day.  The breeze is rustling the leaves on the trees and the birds are flitting here and there in search of yummy insects.

I am thinking...
that Mason is certain my kisses help him heal faster. ♥

I am thankful...
for faith that strengthens me when the world seems to be filled with hate, violence and an ever increasing moral decay.

One of my favorite things...
cooking new dishes for friends.  They are my taste testers and if the meal is not great, that is less I have to eat by myself. :)

I am wearing...
a navy blue scoop neck t-shirt, a purple skirt that falls just above the knee, a wrap bracelet and sandals because I'm leaving in a few minutes to run errands and pick up a child.

I am creating...
a vacation itinerary for one of our summer trips.

I am reading...
Unglued: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions by Lysa Terkeurst.  It is for one of my summer studies.  So far, it's good.

I am hoping...
to make time to read a lot of books this summer.  Maybe I'll make a reading list to hold me accountable and to stay on track.

I am learning...
to procrastinate less and it feels good.

In my kitchen
Oooh, that's a good question.  I should make a plan or we'll end up eating out a lot.  That is a budget breaker!

In the school room...
dust!  Because we haven't been in there.  Yay for summer break.

In my garden...
cute little vegetable plants and herbs.  They might need a little refreshing water on this warm first day of summer.

Shared Quote...
"Tolerance isn't about not having beliefs. It's about how your beliefs lead you to treat people who disagree with you." ~ Timothy Keller

A moment from my day last week...

  1. Hi Kim. It looks like you have a beautiful family. I enjoyed your Simple Woman's entry. I also joined your site! I noticed your shared quote on "tolerance." I thought I would pass this quote from Dr. Donald DeMarco - Facing Relativism and the Challenge of Truth to you. I hope you like it.
