simple woman's daybook

For Today... March 16, 2015

Outside my window...  the sun has set and the clouds were gray with an edge of red.  There is a little rain on the windows that is sparkling in the streetlight.

I am thinking... of our St. Patrick's day table at bible study tomorrow.  Went to a friend's store and she set me up with a green table cloth, plates, napkins and many die-cut shamrocks.  Fun, fun!

I am thankful... for spring weather this early in the year!  Our snow has all melted and the grass is green-ish already.

I am wearing... blue jeans, black tank top and a raspberry colored cardigan with dangly earrings and socks on my feet.

I am creating... an organized bookshelf.  Going through all my books and sorting them by subject and author.  I am a book nerd.  :)

I am going... to a lot of social engagements this week.  I used to pray for a few good friends to be able to chat with.  God has certainly blessed me in this.

I am wondering... What am I wondering?  Will the nice weather continue?  Who sings the song I am currently listening to? (Maroon 5, I should have known!) What color should I paint the den?  What should I wear tomorrow?  How should I transport my goodies tomorrow.  Did I get all my homework done?  Who might read this post?

I am reading... Fearless by Max Lucado and waiting for Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline to be available at the library.

I am hoping... to make a few hand-made cards to share with friends and family.

I am learning... how to pray.  (Pretty sure there is no right way, this is just an outline for praying out loud!  Which, by the way, is not something I'd consider to be in my comfort zone...at all!) :)

In my garden... the worms are still sleeping and the soil is drinking the melting snow.

In my kitchen... pistachio cake and cucumber-dill bites waiting for tomorrow.

In the homeschool room... we are finishing the civil war era and going into a three week study on Africa!  How fun.  I am hoping to tell some stories the kids haven't heard yet from my trip.

A favorite quote for today... "May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door."  ~Irish blessing

A peek into one of my days...
He didn't want his picture taken.

The last photo I took.

One of my favorite things... when a plan falls together effortlessly.
