simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY November 6, 2013

Outside my window... red, orange and gold leaves on trees and blowing in the breeze.

I am thinking... of my 'to do' list for today.

I am thankful... for the courageous people who share the trials and tribulations in their lives so I can be inspired by their stories.

In the kitchen... a new recipe, Black bean tortilla chili.  Yum.

I am wearing... purple shirt with blue jeans and pink socks.

I am creating... a list of books I'd like to purchase.  I love me some books.

I am going... to make buffalo chicken wings for dinner.

I am wondering... where the month of October hurried off to?

I am still reading... Kisses from Katie: A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption by Katie Davis

I am hoping... to get outside for a walk tomorrow.

I am looking forward to... re-decorating the family room.  There is a plan slowly forming, now I just need to find a few key items.  Going to be a work in progress.

I am learning... French.

Around the house... the view out the window has changed a bit since Patrick and I did some major pruning of our bushes.

I am pondering... being lonesome.

A favorite quote for today... "Refuse to be average.  Let your heart soar as high as it will." ~ A.W. Tozer

One of my favorite things... This may be a redundant favorite but one of my all time favorite things is to enjoy a cup of coffee in the quiet of the morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week: put together a few lesson plans, possibly shop for shoes, nature journaling and the usual activities topped off by a small group gathering on Friday.

A peek into my day...
Posing for a fall family photo.

  1. I love me some books too! I find my tastes switching a little lately. While I've enjoyed some of the more popular books on the market I am interested in the real stories of men and women and their faith. I picked a few at the thrift store and ordered another one called Evidence Not Seen about a missionary in the Jungles during World War II.

You have beautiful children. Enjoythe rest of your week

  3. Such a lovely place to visit...I'm so glad I dropped in. Your family is lovely and I see we share some common interests. I love the quote by Tozer. Even though this is the first time I've read it I just realized as I was reading it that it is basically the way we raised our two kids! They are grown now and raising their own kids...by basically that same principle!

I have a book list that I need to go through and decide which ones I seriously want to purchase and get moving! :) Thank you for the motivation.

  4. Beautiful children! Your pondering answer and my quote answer have a lot in common. And, I am yet another one who is wearing the purple shirt and denim. :-)
