simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY October 1, 2012

Outside my window... red, brown, yellow and green leaves.  The fall colors are just beautiful.

I am thinking... of assignments the kids and I can do outside today.  I think we'll measure off Noah's ark.

I am thankful... for good friends.

In the kitchen... box cereal for breakfast, pb & j for lunch and pizza for dinner.

I am wearing... my blue 'original masterpiece' t-shirt with black athletic pants, running shoes and a fleece jacket.

I am creating... a menu plan for the month.

I am going... to enjoy watching the kids swim today.

I am wondering... if the beauty here on earth is breathtaking, what will heaven be like?

I am reading... zip, zilch zero!  However, I am waiting for Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron to be available at the library.  If you have time, watch Dewey's story from CBS Sunday Morning.

I am hoping... there will be another "Bourne" movie starring Matt Damon.  I thought the most recent movie, The Bourne Legacy was not very good.

I am looking forward to... retirement.  :)

I am learning.... all about creation and Mesopotamia alongside my students.

Around the house... toy monkeys, folded towels and children getting along.

I am pondering... do fish sleep?

A favorite quote for today... “A person's a person, no matter how small.”  ~ Dr. Seuss

One of my favorite things... quiet time.

A few plans for the rest of the week: make that apple pie that I didn't make last week.  Send a few greeting cards and enjoy the great weather.

A peek into my day...
From our photo shoot last night.

  1. Hi, I found you from The Simple Woman's Daybook posting. I use to love quiet time too... Then the children grew up, and now one of my favorite things is family time... all the hustle and bustle of children and my grandchildren. I enjoyed your post and what a beautiful photo!
