simple woman's daybook

For today February 1, 2012

Outside my window... a gray sky and melting snow.

I am thinking... that I don't like changing medical professionals but, my appointment went well yesterday.

I am thankful... for my friend Jessica who always brings a smile to my face.

In the kitchen... all is quiet.  Kids will be awake soon and making their own breakfast.  Lunch will most likely be pb&j and dinner is a mystery right now.

I am wearing... can you guess?  I'll give you a hint: it's my favorite blogging outfit.  Yep, my jammies!

I am creating... a more organized house?  I question that because that is more of a dream than a creation at this point.

I am going... to say good morning to a 9 year old today.  Ethan's birthday was the 30th and we went to another birthday party for a young man whose birthday is also on the 30th of January.  And, his name is Ethan too!

I am wondering... why?

I am finished reading... Flygirl by Sherri L. Smith.  Going to read some of the kids books on India and China and Korea now.  Three locations I don't know much about.

I am hoping... the used refrigerator we purchased and cleaned out the garage for actually started working overnight.  I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.  After plugging it in and waiting 24 hours, it looks like the freezer section doesn't work!  We were told it did.  Boo!  Now what?

I am looking forward to... today!  I wonder what blessings I will discover?

I am learning... that when you appreciate the small things, joy is all around you.

Around the house... birthday balloons and lots of them.

I am pondering... how different I would be today if I didn't have four children to care for.  I have changed so much over the ten years I've been a parent.  It's been a thrilling journey.

A favorite quote for today... "A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition." ~William Arthur Ward

One of my favorite things... giving gifts.

A few plans for the rest of the week: dentist, doctor and eye doctor appointments, library, bible conference, grocery shopping and seeing my husband off for men's retreat.

Through the lens...
Our snowmen from last week that are now mush.

  2. Popped in via TSWDB. Enjoyed my brief stay - and "meeting" you. The snowmen are cute! FUN! Enjoyed your "pondering". Amazing - how much having children teaches/changes us, huh?! :)

  3. Cute snowmen! Happy Birthday to the lucky one! Make sure you clicked on or turned the dial to your freezer on. I have forgotten to do this in the past only to have husband come behind me without so much as a word and do so. Love him. Love your blog. Hugs.

  4. I loved your daybook. I have pondered the same thing as a mother of four. Very cool snowmen. My two youngest children have never even touched real snow. lol
