Simple Woman's Daybook

For today November 30, 2009

Outside my window.... mostly cloudy and cool, the maple tree is still hanging on to its seeds and they are rustling in a light breeze.

I am thinking..... of how blessed I am even in the midst of hardship.

I am thankful for..... the tiny handprints on my windows.

I am wearing..... a pink t-shirt, purple fleece pullover, black athletic pants and reindeer socks.

I am hearing..... the furnace running, pushing that nice warm air throughout the house.

I am going..... decorate the house with Christmas cheer today.

I am reading..... Total Forgiveness by R.T. Kendall.

I am hoping..... my husband gets a great job offer this week.

I am creating..... a menu for our Christmas party.

On my mind..... caring for "the least of these".

From the learning rooms..... the start of advent, Russia: The Land of Endurance, writing, spelling and arithmetic.

Noticing that..... the older I get, the more tenacious my gray hair gets.

From the kitchen..... Tacos tonight, Pizza Tuesday, Pork Chops on Wednesday, something from the crock pot on Thursday, undecided for Friday and a few christmas cookies throughout the week (hopefully).

Around the house..... evidence that we did not spend the holiday at home, which includes suitcases waiting to be unpacked and various items given to us and our children by the grandparents.

One of my favorite things.... listening to my children pray.

A few plans for the rest of the week..... decorating for Christmas, cleaning the house, AWANA, bible study and a trip to the library.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you.....

~woke up to snow covered trees on our last day visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday.

  1. I'm praying for your husband a good job. My daughter finally got one. She's an accountant. Your picture is beautiful. I hope we will have at least one snow for the children to play in. Your meal sounds wonderful. I plan to make chicken and dumplings today. It will warm us up on a cold day. God bless, Doylene

  2. Oh, I "hear" you about hoping for work for your husband. Mine is a self-employed architect and times are pretty slow just now.

    We keep praying,

    Julie

  3. Ohhh, the book you are reading will definitely challenge you, Kim!

We have snow on the ground now and flurries in the forecast for the entire week :-)

    Blessings,
