Simple Woman's Daybook

For today November 23, 2009

Outside my window.... mostly cloudy and cool and not many birds playing in the trees.

I am thinking..... of all that is on the "to do" list.

I am thankful for..... my washer and dryer.

I am wearing..... my jammies and a blanket wrapped around my legs since it's kinda chilly this morning.

I am hearing..... the sweet sound of silence in a sleeping house.

I am going..... grocery shopping today.

I am reading..... The Case for Christ by Lee Stobel.

I am hoping..... to make lots of pies this week.  Yum Yum!

I am creating..... photos with verse from the words God has put in my heart.

On my mind..... building self esteem in my children.

From the learning rooms..... a bit of Thanksgiving.

Noticing that..... my oldest has another loose tooth that is barely hanging in there.

From the kitchen..... easy dinners this week until Thanksgiving; then turkey, dressing, squash, potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, sauteed mushrooms and lots of pie!  Then, leftovers.

Around the house..... christmas lights waiting to go up on the trees and bushes outside.

One of my favorite things.... spending time with an old friend drinking a decaf mocha.

A few plans for the rest of the week..... hanging christmas lights, baking pie and enjoying Thanksgiving with family.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you.....

It is SO difficult to get a picture of the three kids together.  Just before we took this, L was complaining he was cold, E was climbing on a sculpture just behind these stairs and M was running around like a typical two year old.  Such fun.  It didn't turn out too bad for the craziness that ensued before.

  1. Your picture came out great. And, yes it is hard to get all the children together. I have 5 and someone is either complaining about something while I'm trying to take the pic or they are squinting so the pic comes out awful after all the effort.

  3. That is such a great picture of your kids. They are so cute. I don't bake pies like I should. I do love them though. Crusts are always hard for me to make. My grand little one has lost two teeth. She looks so cute. I love children so much. I like the book you are reading. How do you teach your children self esteem without creating spoiled children? I have read a lot of books on how to but then my mothering instincts kick in and I end up making them think they are the most wonderful person in the world. To me they are. I like Gary Smalley books. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Doylene

  5. Such a sweet photo of your children. I love how they are one above the other.
However I know that it is SO hard to get group photos of the children where everyone looks good.
