Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY September 21, 2009

Outside my window... cool, gray and wet thanks to a bit of rain that fell overnight.

I am thankful for...friends who pray for us.

From the learning rooms... fun mosaic art projects today and continuing on through Russia.

From the kitchen...coffee, yogurt and Amish cinnamon bread.

I am thinking...that I made no other blog entries last week, except for the daybook. I'll have to improve upon that this week.

I am wearing... striped pajama bottoms, a white t-shirt and bare feet.

I am creating... decorative prayer cards.

I am going... to visit my sister this weekend to celebrate her birthday and have a ladies weekend.

I am reading...The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.

I am hoping... to keep my head up, my back straight and my heart soft as I travel through the desert wilderness.

I am hearing...my husband talking to the dog and the boys playing in their room.

Around the house... are scattered remnants from a busy weekend. I've got some catching up to do!

One of my favorite things... campfires on cool autumn nights.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Clean the house, keep up with laundry, find sleeping bags my husband can use for his father/child camping weekend and pack for my weekend with the ladies.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

My husband took this picture a couple of days ago. This is a few miles from our house on a cozy, foggy morning.

  3. Thanks for visiting and for the encouragement! I will be lifting you up as well. I hate that you are in the wilderness with me...but I am glad to know that I have someone in the same boat!

Love Stormie Omartian and her books, in fact you have reminded me that up until about a month ago, I prayed out of the one you are reading each day for my husband and Power of a Praying Parent each day for my kids. I need to get back to that.

It does look as if you are still doing fun things with your children, that is one of my frustrations, that I don't do fun enough, I am like the drill sargeant and that is not how I want them to remember me!

Leaving you with some scripture encouragement.

"In all these things, we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us."
    Romans 8:37

    God Bless!
