simple woman's daybook

FOR TODAY May 11, 2009

Outside my window... the sun is shining, the birds are singing and I have a few potted plants on the porch.
I am thinking... of my mother-in-law who is celebrating her 74th birthday today and undergoing heart surgery next week.
I am thankful for... the relationship I have with my mom and mom-in-love.
From the learning rooms... getting down to the end of lessons, yea!
From the kitchen... cinnamon rolls for breakfast, pb&j for lunch and pork chops on the grill for dinner.
I am wearing... grey fleece pullover with black athletic pants (just got back from a walk).
I am creating... my curriculum spreadsheet for next school year.
I am going... to enjoy the sunshine this morning, teach my children in the learning rooms and tidy up the house today.
I am reading... Twelve Extaordinary Women by John MacArthur.
I am hoping... I can find a few heart healthy meals to make ahead of time for my mom-in-love after her surgery.
I am hearing... birds chirping and the coffee pot percolating.
Around the house... my new coffee carafe and Mercy Me cd I received as Mother's Day gifts from the kids.
One of my favorite things... going to the coffee shop for one of their delicious deli sandwiches and heart to heart girl talk with Jess.
A few plans for the rest of the week: go through kids closets and re-size them (pull small clothes out and see what's left), then probably go clothes shopping for the kids after finding they have three items to wear after I re-sized their closets, nature walks with the kids and start a fun photo project that I hope to post here when it's finished.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

My daughter loves to help me dust and on this day she decided to wear goggles to get the job done. I tried to snap the photo when she wasn't looking.... so the picture isn't that great (and the goggles aren't even on her eyes right then) but I want to keep this for the memories. ;D
